EU-LIFE-Project UFIPOLNET

UFIPOLNET =Ultrafine particle size distributions in air pollution monitoring networks

During EU-project UFIPOLNET (December 2004 - March 2008) the smallest air particles were measured at 4 meausring stations in Europe: Stockholm, Dresden, Prag, Augsburg. Ultrafine particles are 1000 time smaller than the diametre of a human hair. They are a thrat to human health. Ultrafine particles show high particle number concentrations along main traffic roads. UFIPOLNET aimed at producing a measuring device for ultrafine particles in ambient air. The successful proposal and project management was a good example for the cooperation between public and private sector.

Ultrafine Particles in Urban Air – final conference UFIPOLNET from 23 - 24 October 2007

The international UFIPOLNET final conference will take place in Dresden from 23 - 24 October 2007. The conference will give the opportunity to discuss results of the project in front of the background knowledge about ultrafine particles in Europe.
