The Saxon State Office for Environment, Agriculture and Geology (LfULG) is the lead partner (Lead Partner) of the KLAPS project. Within the scope of its functions it faces the increasingly complex issues of agricultural and environmental policy, business, and civil life. The consequences of climate change, globalization and the economic crisis highlight that the current challenges can only be met with a high level of expertise and with close interdisciplinary collaboration. The LfULG is a special administrative authority, directly under the Saxon State Ministry for Environment and Agriculture. It is supported by a well-functioning network of partners in industry, science, counselling and education, and committed actors in the region and across national and state borders.

The work of all departments of the LfULG is done in a sustainable, environmental, and economic manner that combines ecology and economy and maintains the natural diversity of flora and fauna. Regarding the wide range of events and publications, regular information services and specialist website portals, the LfULG provides the most up to date and neutral information on all agricultural and environmental issues to professionals, students, pupils, consultants and interested citizens.

The LfULG assumes the following tasks in the KLAPS project:

  • Administrative coordination of the KLAPS project
  • Calculation of temperature characteristics and indices
  • Modelling of bioclimatic issues
  • Processing of data of the climate projections
  • Merging the project results
  • Knowledge transfer
